Posted on behalf of Krista Abramovic:

I am part of the RU Lifeline Syria Project, as a member of Team Steven Murphy, one of the 32 teams that is bringing together staff, faculty and students to help support Syrian refugee families find a new home in Canada.

Our team is halfway to our goal of $30,000.  We are hosting a fundraising Dinner on December 14th, with the goal of raising an additional $10,000, featuring a fabulous menu that showcases a variety of Syrian dishes. Ratna Omidvar, Chair of Lifeline Syria and Executive Director of the Global Diversity Exchange, is our guest speaker. We will also be raffling off some terrific prizes.

Tickets to this event are $100 each (plus GST), which includes a $60 tax receipt for every ticket purchased.  Tickets can be purchased until December 9th at

If you are unable to attend this event but would still like to donate, please click on this link:

If you would like to direct your donation to our team, please use the drop down menu to designate your gift to the Steven Murphy team.

We hope that you can join us for this event to support this very important cause.

This years team grew from 13 participants in 2013 to 29 participants in 2014!

The RAC agreed to come on board and become our training sponsor.

Our team collaborated with another Ryerson team in a fundraiser.  A huge thank you goes out to all those who donated their time and energy to this fundraiser, it couldn't have happened without your delicious donations and crafty crafts!

I would like to thank all those who assisted who participated in this years run, and I look forward to 2015!

With Thanks,
