This page has been setup to allow for stewards and members to forward questions and answers that generally day to day members have with regards to various areas of our Collective Barginaing Agreement (CBA):

  1. What is family Leave and what do I have do tell my manager to use it?Well the CBA states:

    23.03     Family Leave
    The University recognizes that employees have responsibilities and commitments involving the family and its well being.  In recognition of this fact, in the case of a personal or family circumstance which prevents an employee from reporting to work, special family leave with pay of up to three (3) working days duration may be granted at the discretion of the University.  Requests for such leave will not be unreasonably withheld.

    This means any personal or family matter that prevents you from coming into work will be classified as Family Leave.  Your allowed up to 3 days for any one instance.
