Local 596 Elections

Greetings to all members of Local 596

A virtual election was held on Wednesday February 23rd, 2022 at 4PM. The results of these elections are as follows:

Election for Local President

James McKay and Kella Loschiavo both ran for the position of President of Local 596

  • 215 members voted

  • 157 (73%) voted in Favor of Kella Loschiavo

  • 58 (27%) voted in Favor of James McKay

Kella Loschiavo was declared the elected president by OPSEU obtaining 73% of the votes from the membership.

Election for Vice President

Megan Herrington and Elizabeth Mobeen both ran for the position of Vice President of Local 596

  • 208 members voted

  • 167 (80.3%) voted in Favor of Megan Herrington

  • 41 (19.7%) voted in Favor of Elizabeth Mobeen

Megan Herrington was declared the elected president by OPSEU obtaining 80.3% of the votes from the membership.

Election for Treasurer

Only Grace He ran for Treasurer and thus was acclaimed.

Election for Recording Secretary

Only Jason Naughton ran for Recording Secretary and thus was acclaimed.

Elections for Trustees for the Local

There are two positions for the local for trustees. Only two individuals were nominated and accepted the nomination:

  • Zena Alrawdah

  • Daniel Giannitelli
